Abstract

এ সংকলনের গ্রন্থগুলো প্রফেসর জেমস ফুলার ব্ল্যুমহার্ট প্রণীত Catalogue of the Library of India Office Vol. II, Part IV: Bengali, Oriya, And Assamese Books থেকে নেওয়া৷ ১৯০৫ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে ইণ্ডিয়া অফিস লাইব্রেরীর বাংলা গ্রন্থের এই প্রথম পঞ্জীটি প্রকাশিত হয়। এতে বাংলার সংগে উড়িয়া এবং আসামী গ্রন্থের বিবরণও লিপিবদ্ধ হয়েছে। একথা উল্লেখ করে ইণ্ডিয়া অফিস লাইব্রেরীর গ্রন্থাগারিক এফ. ড্যু. টমাস একটি ভূমিকা দান করেন :

This Catalogue of Bengali, Oriya, and Assamese Books, compiled by Professer J. F. Blumhardt upon principles which are explained in the Preface, is published as the Fourth Part of the Second Volume, containing works in Oriental languages, of the Catalogue of the Library of the India office. The previous parts of this volume were I. Sanskrit Books, by Dr. Reinhold Rost, 1897 ; II. Hindustani Books, by Professor J. F. Blumhardt, 1900 ; III. Hindi, Panjabi, Pushtu, and Sindhi Books, by the same, 1902.
